thank you Kevin,
I found the theme.cfg  but it was not the solution.

if I go to the shop  and check the addr. of  home.gif  button it is 
http://www.mysite.com/shop/images/foundation/home.gif
and it apears

if I go to checkout.html and check the addr. for the same .gif button it is
https://www.mysite.com/shop/images/foundation/home.gif
----^  the button is not shown   
to I have to change any path in a config  or is it a install problem ?
