Not sure exactly what you mean by product group, there
is a field called prod_group in your database table,
but I dont think that what you want. What you want to
do is add new fields to your table.
one called genre and one called country. 
so the simple answer to your question is yes.
you can add the fields through modifying your
products.txt file located in your products directory.
