[ic] date stamp with ic tag?

I want to put on current date and using the
<!--#config timefmt="%A %B %d %Y" -->
<!--#echo var="DATE_LOCAL" -->
In order to do that I need the template leftright to be .shtml I don't know
how to do that. Is there an IC tag that will do the same thing?
