BOOTH

The booth was part of a 4-row section together with three other Open Source
projects (Joomla!, Zope and Yacy).

It was equipped with a 19" monitor running the slideshow and laptops
for individual presentations.

Our poster (A0 size) was attached to the wall. As suggested by Sebastian
we added an mission statement printout: Webshops and E-Commerce for retail
and production from strong community.

PROMOTIONAL ITEMS

The following promotional material was created for this exhibition:

- 35 Interchange t-shirts for the booth personnel to wear
- 200 Bags with Interchange / http://www.icdevgroup.org on it (including URL)
- 250 Lanyards, blue with white logo and text (interchange, www.icdevgroup.org)
- 300 Flyers, highlighting Interchange strengths

- Slideshow highlighting Interchange strengths

Total cost of the items was about 1750 Euro, donations from Endpoint and
Perusion covered about 1430 Euro of these expenses.

We have 15 t-shirts, 20 bags, a larger number of lanyards and flyers left.
The sponsors are entitled to receive a share of these, especially t-shirts.
Delivery by rackecraft.

IMPRESSIONS

Most people visiting our booth were IT consultants investigating software
or from small companies interested in expanding their business, complemented
by some developers. Few of them heard of Interchange before.

The main interest was in ecommerce solutions, ERP integration and European
payment gateways.

Altogether the promotional items where well received. The visitors liked the
bags because they were made of fabric instead of paper or plastics.

CONCLUSIONS

Time to prepare for the exhibition was too short. Production of promotional
material was done in a hurry and interesting ideas had to be dropped (like
Interchange CD's).

Improvements concerning presentation and promotional items were already
thought through. Our focus should be directed on ecommerce, the poster could
be enhanced by more vivid colours ahd complemented by a second, smaller one.

All things considered, we were pleased with our performance and the interest
of the visitors.

CONTRIBUTORS

We would like to thank the booth personnel (Davor Ocelic, Gert van der
Spoel, Jure Kodzuman, Sebastian Kliess, Stefan Hornburg), the sponsors
and the people from IRC for their commitment, support and ideas.

Special thanks to Sebastian for his amazing way to present the strengths of
Interchange in a convincing and comprehensible manner.

PREVIEW

Linuxtag will stay in Berlin, and the organization team promised early
scheduling of the 2008 event. Presumably more Interchange developers and
community members can attend then to a terrific presentation,
including conference talks and workshops.
