  I noticed that it gives an error if you try to process an order with an extended
  zip code.  I think almost every address in the united states has an extened zip 
  code..  example, 90210-1234

+ An extended zip works okay, as long as it is in the format XXXXX-XXXX.  The 
+ problem is that if you enter a zip of 12345-1234 on one page (like your account 
+ settings), it will lose the hyphen by the time it gets to the next page (a 
+ checkout page for instance), and end up being a 9 digit number (which is 
+ invalid of course.)  We need to make the hyphen sticky, and make sure it
