[ic] products data update from the external of Interchange?

I would like to know the way of product item data maintenence on batch
style.
Update data source which format is EXCEL or tab deleimted text file,
comes from other system.

Update operations are general way as follows.
- New item record inserting
- Data field(description, price, color, etc) replacement
- Delete item record

I think that one of solutions is whole of database upload every day, but
products database size is so large.
Are there anyone having this kind of experience or solution?
