[ic] updating database text file

I am updating the database through the user interface spreadsheet edit capability. The Auto Export checkbox is checked, however it does not update the text file with the same name as the table, as I thought it would. When I change the text file it automatically changes the database though. Is there a way I can keep it in sync, or more needed to actually update, or regenerate a text file from the data in the table? Sometimes it's easier to update one item using the UI and sometimes it's easier to do a find/replace on the entire table, so i would like the text file to have the same info as the table.
