[ic] newbie needs help

I have 2 questions.

First, and this one makes me feel quite stupid, how do you change the
text "Welcome to (Company name), your online hardware store!" that
appears directly under the top menu bar?

Secondly, on the results page, the current output is "product, sku,
stock, price, qty, and buy." I am not concerned with the stock content
and would like to replace it with it "pdf". Meaning, if a schematic of
the item is available in pdf format, then a link to the pdf page is
provided in that column.

Any ideas?
