[ic] new item errors?

If you have already tried restarting Interchange, let me know exactly what you
were doing when the error occured, I ran into this same problem yesterday, but
while I was trying to track it down it mysteriously started working correctly,
I haven't been able to reproduce it since then, so I haven't been able to fix
it.
