I don't think [item-options ...] supports it. You can add it by editing
the list of parameters to send to tag_accessories, i.e. change:

            push @out, tag_accessories(
                            $sku,
                            '',
                            { 
                                passed => $ref->[3],
                                type => $opt->{type} || $ref->[5] || 'select',
                                attribute => 'mv_sku',
                                price_data => $ref->[6],
                                price => $opt->{price},
                                item => $phony,

                        );

to:

            push @out, tag_accessories(
                            $sku,
                            '',
                            { 
                                passed => $ref->[3],
                                type => $opt->{type} || $ref->[5] || 'select',

                                price => $opt->{price},
                                extra => $opt->{extra},
                                item => $phony,
                            },
                            $phony || undef,
                        );

in a couple of places. I will make that change in CVS.
