what would happen if you were to rewrite the
query to be something like below ?

 [sql type="set" base="CompanyInfo" interpolate="1"]
  UPDATE CompanyInfo SET
   contactname = '[value contactname]',
   company = '[value company]'
 [/sql]

does it also return an error ?
