[ic] Strange Image_Dir controls?

Dear IC Wizards,

Installing Foundation Demo on 4.8.3. Completely purged and started over
from scratch last night with a freshly downloaded tarball. I thought it was
going to work right off the bat, but then...

When I am on the SERVER using Netscape, the Foundation Store menu images are
being displayed but the thumbnails are not. I move to an IE 5.5
workstation, and from there, both the thumbnails AND the menu mapped images
(on the menu bar) are NOT being displayed. There is a // in front of the
logo.gif, as in
http://microanswers.net/foundation/images/foundation//logo.gif

So, I checked the instructions at
http://interchange.redhat.com/cgi-bin/ic/docfly.html?mv_arg=icconfig05.35
and
http://interchange.redhat.com/cgi-bin/ic/docfly.html?mv_arg=icconfig05.36
What is illustrated at those two pages is not what I have in my catalog.cfg
file.

I have:
ImageDir __IMAGE_DIR__/
ImageDirInternal http://__SERVER_NAME____IMAGE_DIR__/

Can I simply hard code this setting into some files and get on my way? Or
maybe I should tweak the makecat script so that it doesn't allow my
incorrect answer? But I really don't want change things that I know so
little about. I don't seem to be able to answer the makecat script
questions correctly for how things are set up on my server. I do have
multiple web sites running so I don't think it's something in my httpd.conf.
I could be wrong... It's happend a couple of times before...

TIA for any help. I'm in a highly seasonal business and I need to get this
going soon!
