[ic] Having Trouble with the menu editor

The menu editor part of our site doesn't seem to be working
I wish to build a dynamic dropdown menu.

In our products table I have the 2 fields of manufacturer and product_group
which I want to use as the menu top level field and second level
respectively.

The documentation on this is a little thin on the ground and I was wondering
on some pointers to start.
How do the CAT and Area tables work as I think they have something to do
with it, what do they need etc etc..
