[ic] checkout selection fails

This isn't a javascript issue. It fails of ALL browsers, IE (5, 5.5, 6)
Netscape 4.x-6, Mozilla.....


I backed up the data from the .txt files and removed the IC rpms. I then
removed the directories they were in (except for the images dir in the
www area, to much stuff). Reinstalled 4.8.6, ran makecat, restored the
txt files, removed the products/*.sql and *.gdbm files. Restarted IC,
waited for the DB to restore successfully (it did).=20

Logged in as the test user. Added an item to the cart and watched it
crash when I selected "checkout".=20

I'm stumped.=20
