To my knowledge, only the zip, weight, and NMFC are criteria for freight
calculation.

So, you may try a UPS style lookup, handling different NMFC like different
shipping method of UPS, each has its own rate table. When doing a shipping
calculation, select different NMFC like selecting different UPS method,
ground commercial, ground residential, 3day select, etc, justing
subsitnuting the method name with NMFC class.
