 if you go to ominiweb and search the macosxadmin list for perl, you will 
find more - stepwise.com's Scott has problems with it as well - I consider 
him the formost authority on OSX (IMHO) - from his posts I gather that that 
Apple had to effect a kludge on perl because HFS+ and it's case insensitive 
behaviour - however it has not made the kludge publically available.
