You can change your left-hand side search type from simple to complex
in the UI under Design.  You would do something like this:

sf=category
se=MyCategory
va=category=My Category Title

Then in your results page you can simply access [value category] to
read in "My Category Title".  Obviously you would need to do this for
all the categories.

As with most of my suggestions, there may be an easier way to do it.
I hope someone pipes up here and shows me one.
