I hope that you have already gotten a better answer that I am going to try
to give you. (I'm behind on my mail!)

I seem to recall a question similar to this around 9 months ago on the
mailing list along with a solution like you are looking for.

The construct demo automatically created user accounts. The log in name was
generated from etc/customer.number and the password was the callers zip code.
The customer was never told this. However, once the customer knew this, it
was possible for them to log in with it.

It should be a simple matter to put on the receipt page what their log in ID
is, and to inform them that their password is their zip code.
