Subject: [ic] help - component problem
Reply-To: interchange-users@icdevgroup.org

Hello,

I hope this is the right place to ask for help regarding a problem I have
with Interchange. I am trying to build my own e-commerce website with it,
and it was very nice to find out what can be done with it!

I took the "leftright" template as my starting point and adjusted it to my
wishes. But during my testing I removed for a second the components #5 and
#6 from the template fields. Normally when I placed them somewhere else,
the component dropboxes would re-appear in that other place. That's why I
thought when I would remove them, and later add them again, the dropboxes
for #5 and #6 would re-appear again. But they didn't. How can I get them
back??

The strange thing is though, that the output of components #5 and #6 still
appear in the customer version of the site, but I can no longer edit them
from the administrator entrance...

I hope someone can help me with this problem (hope it is clear what the
problem is). Thanks a lot!!
Regards,
Saske Rodenburg

Sorry! No! I've trouble to us it, because I'm a WIN dummie now.
But if the E-Mail has no "Content-ID" in his header, the outlook has a
paperclip symbol in his paperclib column. But IC send the e-mail *with*
"Content-ID" in the header. Did we need that? Or did you know the cause
of missing paperclib symbol in outlook, if the email has an attachment?

Thanks!

THanks for the tip. The moment I upgraded to perl 5.6.1 everything went ok.
It seems that while interchange can work with 5.6.0, one must have 5.6.1 in
order to install the foundation demo.
Thanks once again to everyone.

We have a need for an experienced Interchange developer for a short-term
project on a contract
basis. Must be available pretty much immediately.

Our project involves modifying a foundation-based store to add some custom
discounting
functionality.

Please contact Mark Ciccarello at mark@ciccarello.com ASAP if you are
interested.

Thanks

Versions of mod_interchange prior to 1.22 suffer from this sort of
thing. It was only spotted when Netscape 7 came out because of the
unnecessary URI encoding it seems to perform.

If the original poster is using an earlier version then a module
upgrade should be the first thing that to try.

By default the Signio/Payflow Pro module will create a sale for the new

perform an authorization and not a sale? I'm currently using Interchange

is wrong). But I want for total-price not the sum of sub-total and VAT
because all my prices in the product table already include the tax. Where
can I change the formula of [total-cost] (and also of the [salestax])? I
didn't found it.

Someone else may have a better answer for you, but I know you can set the
session ID (and thus cart info) to not expire when the browser session ends
if that's the way you want it. The problem with that is you end up with a
lot of session data building up if you don't have the carts expire within a
reasonable amount of time.

- Grant

Thank you for the response Grant... I'm still looking for the location of
the file where the session ID can be set.

I did find this from last year's list, but it didn't work when I tried it:
==
"Actually, I have finally been able to dig into the usertag section and
discover the load_cart and delete_cart family of functions that handle these
calls. Including the following line near the top of my basket.html did the
trick:
[if cgi retrieve_cart][load_cart nickname="[cgi retrieve_cart]"][/if]
This picks up the CGI variable load_cart which is set by the link on the
saved_carts.html page."
==
I added that link at the top of the basket.html page, and the cart was saved
as long as I kept the browser open. Even after I logged out and returned,
the cart was there. But when I closed the browser and returned, the saved
cart was gone.

I'll keep researching, and checking here for other responses as well. Thank
you all.

Reply-To: interchange-users@icdevgroup.org

Hi guys

IC 4.8.3

I have a product type page, lets say of opera music. It describes the
product and gives a little history of said product. This main page also
displays the first 12 product results via an in-page sql query with more=1.

I would like to have all subsequent "opera" pages 2,3,4,5 be minus the
description and history. However if the person decides to go back to page
'1' they would again see the description and history, kinda making it a home
page for the product.

in pseudo code it would be:

[if page first_result_set]show this[/if]
or
[if more_list_page == 1]show this[/if]

Basically I need to show products on this page, but it also needs to act as
a "more information" home page for said product.

Is there any way to identify result pages?

Not looking for a freebie, just a hint or a direction. Or am I overlooking
an easier way to do this :)

Thanks guys.

Hello group,

My 'List on select page' in the item editor for the product list
currently contains:

sku
title
description(30)
category
prod_group
price("EUR "%.2f align=right)
wholesale("EUR "%.2f align=right)
sale_price("EUR "%.2f align=right)
comment

This allows me to display the product list to administrator users with
the proper currency (fortunately always the same currency in this case). In
the past I've made some of these updates by 'educated guesses',
as there didn't seem to be much documentation available at the time.

Currently what I'd like to do is doing a lookup in another table based on
the
product SKU (I realize this will probably slow down things considerably). Is

this possible? Can I use tags or (even better) Perl in the 'list on select
page' box? If in the meantime anyone knows of the existence of any
documentation for this part of the UI, a pointer to it is much appreciated.

Regards,

Marc Brevoort

Add "Route signio transaction auth" to your catalog.cfg and reconfigure

What operating system are you using? What method did you use to
install interchange? Odds are there were some error messages before
this one. This looks like a final status error. The real error that
caused the "%post scriptlet" to fail was probably given before this
one. Get us some more information and we'll help you fix it.

> Any help will be highly appreciated.

BTW, general etiquette is to 1) start you own thread when asking a new
question (i.e. don't just reply to some other question). That means
you have a new subject line with a summary of your
problem/question/comment. Note that your problem has nothing to do
with "Payment Method".

2) when replying to a message don't just put your stuff at the top.
Trim the message you're responding to down to the specific parts
you're answering then put your answer below that. See how this rule
applies to the first one. If you're replying to something but aren't
saying anything related to it you should remove all of the previous
message.

This is not a flame. I'm personally glad to help if I can. Others
here will help if they can. We'll all probably help even if you
follow bad email etiquette. However, good etiquette is just plain
nice. Good luck on your install. We look forward to getting more
information from you.

Subject: [ic] dropped cart in AOL
Reply-To: interchange-users@icdevgroup.org

Hello all...

I've been a MV user for quite a while, and I've recently set up my first
IC site.

However, I've run into a problem:

My shopping site uses a separate SSL server (it's on the same physical
server, but under a different host name).
So, as I've done with my MV sites, and according to what's in the FAQ, I
added the following to my interchange.cfg file:
IpHead Yes
IpQuad 0

This would usually set the same session cookie on the SSL server as on
the non-SSL server. However, for AOL users (I'm testing in AOL 7.0),
the SSL server is trying to set a new session cookie, thus the shopping
cart is dropped.

I've tried the above settings with DomainTail Yes and DomainTail No, but
still no luck. I also added WideOpen Yes to my catalog.cfg, but still
nothing works.

On the non-SSL pages, any links to checkout (on the secure server) have
the proper session ID in the URL's query string:
https://ssl.SERVER.com/cgi-bin/proshop/ord/checkout.html?id=3DxfDXybRt&mv=
_
arg=3Dsecure%3d1&mv_pc=3D18

So, I'm wondering if there is some way I can force IC to set the proper
cookie based on the passed session variable.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Ace

Subject: [ic] Decimal values problem even with Foundation demo...help
Reply-To: interchange-users@icdevgroup.org

Hi List,

My problem is that when ever I have a decimal value in the database for
Weight in the products table, in the shopping cart and checkout.html page it
displays shipping weight as 0
and consequently Shipping Value also 0.

I thought that some thing I am missing in my code and tried with the default
foundation demo by changing the weights as decimal values. for Example. If
the weight was 2 then i changed it to 0.25 etc. When I click in the
recalculate button it displays weird results most of the time 0 and some
times strange values like 45 or 75 etc.

Pl. help me in this regard to overcome the above problem.

I thought I would respond since no one else has....

I have been thinking about configurable missing-URL routines. Right now,
the default is that if a page is not found, a flypage is tried. If that
is not found, then in 4.9 the DirectoryIndex is tried (allowing index.html
to be the index page for a directory). Then it is passed to the special
page "missing", whatever that is defined to be.

I thought of adding a "PageResolution" directive, i.e.:

    PageResolution   category_page Vend::Interpolate::fly_page

That would allow the Sub/GlobalSub "category_page" to get first crack
at a missing URL, followed by a try at the flypage.

Of course, the most efficient way to do this would be with a
"category" ActionMap, i.e.:

	http://foo.com/cgi-bin/bar/category/Category Name/1.html
	http://foo.com/cgi-bin/bar/category/Category Name/2.html
	http://foo.com/cgi-bin/bar/category/Category Name/3.html

The special "category" causes the ActionMap category to be run,
and the category could be followed. The trailing 2, etc. could
be used for paging.

You should be able to pass to any payment module the mode you desire (as
long as it is in the list of valid choices for that mode). You should be
able to do this with a hidden form variable, with a &set in the checkout
profile itself, or by adding a param to the [charge ...] tag in the
checkout profile. Do a 'perldoc VENDROOT/lib/Vend/Payment/Signio' for more
info.

Marc -

I suspect you will have to customize the admin/item.html page to do this.
Once you open it up you will see that it is just ITL and Perl, like the
foundation demo, so adding a column with field from a related table is as
easy as [item-data tablename field].

I just started looking into Interchange
so forgive me if I'm asking the obvious.

I can't find anywhere a list of payment
processing gateways supported via ic.

I have seen references to Signio/PayFlow Pro,
CyberCash, and ECHO. What about Authorize.net?

Is there a full listing anywhere?

Also, in whatever e-commerce solution we
implement, we *must* have coupon support.

That is, we want to set up coupons (like
$5 off orders over $25) with "valid thru" dates.

>From what I've read so far, it doesn't look
like Interchange has this functionality built-in.

Are there any "modules" developed to provide this
functionality? If nobody knows of any, is anyone
working on this functionality? We would either
want to join that effort or pay a consultant to
develop that functionality for us.

Thanks in advance for your input; and again, sorry
if I'm asking stupid questions...

Yes, IC does integrate with AuthorizeNet as well as the other gateways
you mentioned above.

I can tell you that we have implemented a robust coupon system for IC.
To my knowledge, IC does not have "built-in" functionality as part of
Foundation.

There are a number of very competent IC consultants on this list that I
am sure could help develop/integrate a coupon system according to your
specifications. In fact, I think there is a separate list somewhere to
post IC projects you would like to be developed, but I forgot that URL.

There probably is a full listing, you could also look in lib/Vend/Payment to
see all the modules, and yes there is one for Authorize.Net... I use it :)

Coupon support is not built in. I am not sure about 4.9/5 but as of 4.8.3 (i
believe any 4.8.x) does not have it "built in"

I hired a fine consultant to integrate that function for us. I just asked,
he did his magic, and wallah!

As far as I know there is no module, maybe because coupons can get
complicated and are different for every store owner. (i.e., time limits/no
time limits, per person/not per person, set minimum/no minimum, per person
w/time limit, no time limit but one per person, etc etc)

If you need help, just outline what you want and ask a consultant for help.
However if you are a perl guru, I am sure you could do it yourself quite
easily.

Paul
