[ic] Editing Orders & Returns

I see that in the current version of the live demo (IC 5) there is a way
to edit orders that have been placed.  Has there been a way that is easy
like this in previous versions?  Specifically I am wondering how people
handle returns?  If someone orders a LG shirt, but then wants the
exchange it for a XL, how do IC recommend handling that?  Does this
functionality exist in 4.8.x or 5?
