[ic] Problem with ./lib/UI/pages/admin/item_option_old.html (maybe)

I'm using 4.9.8 (release) and whenever I add a 'Simple Option' to a 
product, I get the following error:

[...]/admin/item_option_old.html Safe: DBD::mysql::st execute failed: 
Column 'o_master' cannot be null at 
[...]/interchange/lib/Vend/Table/DBI.pm line 1376.

It seems that o_master isn't being set to 1 for some reason in 
item_option_old.html, but I can't see whynot.

Any ideas?
