[ic] perl issue

Hi,

A while back I uninstalled all my perl rpm's and used the tarball 
installation of perl 5.8, and the one thing that I forgot to do is tell 
my up2date not to update perl. As expected when I ran up2date, it 
installed all kinds of perl rpm's.  Everything seems well, but my 
questions are:
Why is my interchange still working?
What will happen if I reboot?
Should I uninstall all the perl rpm's again? or should I just leave the 
rpms alone and hope for the best...
