Rebooting will have nothing to do with how Interchange runs, or how perl 
programs are run. The new binary is there from your upgrade, and 
whatever needs to be run via interpretation, it runs. If Interchange 
runs after restarting the Interchange daemon, then the perl upgrade went 
just fine, in which case you should just be happy and celebrate;)
