in order for any changes in catalog themes and any .cfg files you must apply
changes, and it will say something like
Please wait,
Please wait,
Please wait,
Successfull load (return)

It will say something like that, you must click the (return) or else the
changes will not take effect.

Subject: [ic] Changing styles in IC - Admin Prefs, theme.css, theme.cfg?
What is standard?

Hi-

I've installed IC 4.9.4, and am trying to customize
the look and feel of the site.

My problem is that I can't for the life of me figure
out where I should make my changes. I've searched the
IC site and the mailing list archives, as well as
looked at my config files and HTML source to try and
ascertain where the styles are coming from without
success.

I modified some entries in
Administration->Preferences->Company Styles... NO
EFFECT.

Based upon a thread in the mail archives, I changed
the theme.cfg file... NO EFFECT.

>From looking at the HTML out put to the browser, I
found theme.css and edited that... NO EFFECT.

It seems as though many people have asked this
question, but there is no definitive answer that I
could find.

Can anyone offer assistance?

-Kushmit

P.S.- I'm not sure if this has been logged as an
enhancement request, but one thing that would make
changing the look-and-feel a whole lot easier would be
if there were ONE set of style sheets and/or style
settings that could be tweaked for each catalog. Right
now, it seems as though there are 4 or 5 sets of
sheets in different locations - some in the
filesystem, others in the DB. I think IC is a great
program, but having so many ways to tweak the
look-and-feel kind of defeats the purpose of style
sheets (manage all styles in a single place).

My suggestion would be to have all of a catalog's
style sheets reside in the filesystem within the
catalog directory (not in DB). Having the style sheets
in the filesystem would allow people to use some of
the available tools for editing stylesheet files. And
if I wanted to apply a style to a new or existing
catalog, it's just a matter of copying a file (or
setting up a symlink). Also, then the styles could be
put into a version control system.

>From a priority standpoint, I would rate this
enhancement pretty high. Changing the look-and-feel is
something that EVERY IC customer will want to do
before going live. Thanks!
