[ic] exclude image display for a emty field

Hi,

I am a IC newbie. I use a new mysql table: news. Now I only want to display 
the content of my imagefield when there is an image available (not a 
image-cross when the field is empty).  I tried the the IF FIELD tag but it 
didn't work, i think I did something wrong. How can I do this ?

   <img src="[news-param banner_image]">
