I just setup a new sever with Gentoo - somebody recommended it on this
group. It was interesting to watch the entire Linux distro compile, and it
does not have threaded perl enabled by default. Gentoo has a nice update
facility with emerge function. Installation is not as easy as Redhat, but
you can configure your server as you see fit. There is a nice setup
document.
I have IC 5.0 with demo installed and working accessing our Mysql server.
So far so good - if you have the time to learn this distribution - it may
well be worth the time.
