The question is who arbitrates who gets the bid? 8-)

In my case, most people who have used Interchange will have an idea
of the quality of solution I can provide -- same for some of the
others above.

I would love to be able to do this type of thing, but there are
definitely problems:

* Administrative -- who accounts for the money?

* Support -- will people understand they are not getting technical
support except via the list when they contribute? Even if it
seems obvious to some here, there are people who figure they
get toll-free technical support for life if they chip in $50.

* Quality -- who will call "BS" on a poorly-done contribution?

I have taken on the task, with Paul's generous offer seed money. When I
post the extension, those who have volunteered to contribute are on the
honor system to follow the link that will be in the message and
contribute their dollars.

I think I have seed money for a Paypal Payment module, too, if
people want that. It would take quite a few more contributors,
though -- probably 6-8 hours worth (the work is in the 20 hour
range at least, and I have seed money for two of the 10).
