[ic] Help needed with product _tree images not working

I have not been able to get open and closed folder images to show up
when using the product_tree component.  If I set no_images to yes, the +
and - do show up, but setting no_images to no produces no images.  By
looking at the webpage output, everything appears correct except for the
following three lines that are not getting populated.

var product_tree_toggle_anchor_clear = '';
var product_tree_toggle_anchor_closed = '';
var product_tree_toggle_anchor_open = '';


Does anybody have any suggestions on what to look at?  This is using
Interchange 5.2.
