 Hi again,

  Well I got my ODBC connections running, it's the interchange databases 
I am no good at ( yet ), however, I think I have found all the 
functionality I need in interchange as for backing up to the txt files 
and such, ( I peeked at thu UI interface ).

  What you have done looks like what I am aiming to do, exept I want to 
initiate the connection from the linux side. I think I am ontop of it 
all right now, but interchange is a beast to learn ...

 thanks, and I'm sorry for the load of questions .. I hope to gather 
some of them in a little howto or something to 'get even' he he he ... 
with all you folks that have helped me.
