if you're using Mysql as the backend database you will have to go to 
Miscellaneous->Layout Editor Auto-populate->

For item #8 choose yes and click the button labeled "Populate".

This action should populate those tables with the new values. If you 
allow the menu item for item #8 to remain "no" then you're likely to end 
up with double entries in your side menu.
