Thank you Joachim for pointing me towards this previous posting.  I must
admit it appears I may have been lazy and not searched the archives the
first time!

No I had not found that article!

For some reason I am a slow learner it with the Interchange environment
but I am guessing that changing mv_password=[value zip] to
mv_password=pass[value zip] in the etc/log_transaction file will just
append pass to the beginning of the contents of zip when auto-creating
the password.

Is this the only line in log_transaction to change?
