[ic] visual verification for new account

Hi,

I would like to require new users to input a verification code that they
have to read from a gif or jpeg file before they can create a new
account.  I am thinking about 2 ways to do this:

1: come up with a database of random codes with related images.
2: create the images on the fly.

I would rather use the 2nd method as the first would be more error
prone.

Has anyone done this before?
