In my experiences, these are normally caused by locking issues where it
seems one of the daemons never releases the lock on some file. We've
seen this happen on the catalog error.log file as well as the session
files. If you are using NFS for anything, I suggest having those files
on the local disk so you don't have to rely on fcntl.
