[ic] Log out then in... switch user?

Is there some technique I can use to log into another account without first 
logging out of the account I am already logged in to?  The end result should 
be identical to as if I had logged (clear=1 or even clear_session=1) out of 
the first account, and then logged into the second account - so I am not 
asking to be in two accounts at once.

It seems like it works if I don't clear=1, but I want to clear the session - 
I don't want any overlooked artifacts mucking things up. Maybe some sort of 
"reset session then reload as if just logged in" type trigger?
