Answer
Authorize.Net allows merchants to specify the Transaction Version, which
determines which transaction data may be processed. The only difference
between Transaction Versions 3.0 and 3.1 is that Version 3.1 includes the
option for Card Code Verification, while Version 3.0 does not.

There are two ways to set the Transaction Version--from inside your
account's Settings, and via your credit card processing software.

To update the transaction version in your Merchant Interface, please follow
these steps:

1. Log into your Merchant Interface at https://account.authorize.net

2. Click Settings in the main left side menu.

3. Click Transaction Version.

4. Click the Submit button.

This will update the account to use Transaction Version 3.1.

To ensure that transactions processed through your software will include the
Card Code Verification option, make sure your transaction requests include
the field x_version and is set to "3.1". Please consult your developer or
shopping cart provider for details on how to ensure this field is sent with
each transaction. For more information on Transaction version 3.1 or Card
Code Verification, visit our online video tutorials at
