[mv] Passing variables?

Greetings,
for [value foo] = test and [value bar] = yes
I've tried -->
[set name="[value foo]" INTERPOLATE=1 ][value bar] [/set] to make test=yes
get passed to session stuff, or even just go from a page to another with no
luck. According to docs this should work? Does work when setting the values
directly as in [set name=test]yes[/set].
Can anyone point out why she no worky?
tried [seti] as well...
