Interchange users is the forum for discussing how, when, where, and why to use Interchange, the electronic commerce software based orignally on Minivend and Tallyman.
List topics include anything and everything related to Interchange. No blatant commercial messages are allowed. (Those go on the interchange-biz list instead.) Otherwise there are no rules except:
1. No flaming.
2. No HTML mail.
3. Stay on topic, please.
4. No PGP/GnuPG signatures. This is not a legal record, and they just bloat the digest.
5. Trim previous messages and quote them at the top.
6. Do not post anything that you do not mean for the whole world to see forever! All messages go out to thousands of people, and are archived in public archives. We can not remove messages once you have posted them.
Number 5 bears some explanation:
<blockquote>
Quoting user1 (<user1@somedomain.com>):
> Some limited text that will give context.
Your reply.
</blockquote>
versus
<blockquote>
Your reply, lazily put at the top.
Quoting user1 (<user1@somedomain.com>):
> The whole big blob of the previous posts, including
> signatures and all
</blockquote>
Many of the list readers stop following a thread the moment this lazy quoting method is used. They figure that if you can't take half a minute of your time to save multiple minutes of the readers' time, you don't deserve replies.
