In the past what I have done is only transfer pages / files up. I run 2
identical catalogs. One live and one development. When I have let's say the
search.profiles the way I want it I send to the live server and restart.

I would bottle up the entire site and install in the root interchange
directory with any name you want. Then I would run makecat and call that cat.
Make sure to get rid of your catalog.cfg and put in an empty one from another
cat in the root dir. Or just do a makecat and send up your pages and files to
replace what is there.
