[ic] changes not showing up for awhile

Hi, when I make changes to the main template files with my new host that 
runs 4.8.3 the changes don't show up for a long time.  I even deleted the 
four main ones as a test yesterday, and still nothing changed on the site 
until this morning.  With my old host and 4.6 any changed I made were 
immediately reflected on the site.  What am I missing?  I'm editing via FTP 
by the way.  Thanks!
