Thanks, I checked and was missing Tie::Watch, but adding that didn't change 
anything.

The "read only" table error still persists.

The only other "problem" I seem to be having is that an "Apply Now" often 
(9 times out of 10) times out.

Everything else is working, and the permissions are ok, it seems.  As I 
said, the *.*.numeric files are updated,
so the program can write to the directory and files.
