[ic] Catalogs only work with --debug=1

I set up a new foundation catalog as a new user and the ./configure failed
to create the database tables. It created the database itself, but it was
empty. I receive several DB related errors when trying to start the
catalog. I am 100% sure the username and password for the db are correct.
Could I be missing a perl module? I checked and the mysql.so indicated in
the error is on the system. This is a new error...

I thought that was:
PATH=/usr/local/bin:$PATH ./configure

...which ensures that configure searches for perl in /usr/local/bin first
(before the rest of the path) and finds the unthreaded version.
